Future Alves Still Puzzle
Barcelona – The future of Dani Alves, Barcelona is still a puzzle. Barca president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, also could not answer whether the Brazilian defender will remain at the club.
Alves is currently just under contract with Barca until the end of the 2014/2015 season. That is, if there is no renewal of the contract, he will be free to go to any club next summer.
Although he was already 31 years old, Alves is believed to still be able to attract many takers. Arsenal, Manchester United, to Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to sign him.
Barca itself seems not to hastily finish negotiating a new contract with Alves. They also do not know if Alves will eventually sign a contract extension or not.
“We are planning next year (Carles) Rexach and (Ariedo) Braida is the other directors. They are working,” said Bartomeu told RNE Radio.
“I do not know if he would survive. But, we can not recruit players until January 1, 2016,” he said.
Alves, who recruited Barca from Sevilla in 2008, this season has played in 27 games. In 27 games, he contributed four goals.
