State involvement Do not merely Considered Intervention
Jakarta – State involvement in football should not merely be regarded as intervention measures. PSSI is to be subject to the FIFA statutes, but it must be remembered also that PSSI is owned Indonesia.
“Yes, if the PSSI would not care about the Indonesian people themselves, yes, his letter I removed it. Football Association of Indonesia anyway,” said Town Counsel Association PSSI Solo, FX. Rudyatmo Hadi, told reporter after a discussion in Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (04/14/2015) afternoon local time.
Last weekend FIFA sends warning letter to the Ministry of Youth and Sports related to the implementation of the Indonesia Super League (ISL). In the letter mentioned that Indonesia threatened sanctions if the determination of the number of participants of the competition is determined by a third party, after BOPI not give remondasi on Arema Cronus and Persebaya to compete.
“Should the state be involved. But, do not merely say intervention. We do not want to be pitted by FIFA. If a little is said intervention, this violates FIFA statutes.”
Continued FX Rudy, FIFA statutes still upheld despite Kemenpora take relevant steps ISL 2015.
“FIFA Statutes that we still hold dear, but as the Indonesian nation we must have a great life. Football in Indonesia is supposed to belong to the people of Indonesia, does not belong to FIFA. If PSSI subject FIFA statutes, yes. But, PSSI his Indonesian nation.”
“If state intervention is legitimate yes anyway. Football was brought Indonesian name anyway. Not to be intervention was kept how. However, the intervention was not to oppose the FIFA statutes,” added the man who was serving as mayor of Solo’s.
